Women in Law is a professional organization designed to promote relationships among women at UNC Law, other local law schools, and in the legal profession. We do this by hosting several events throughout the year, as well as taking advantage of opportunities to serve our community. Check out below for more information!
The purpose of Women in Law is to address concerns and issues facing women who are entering the legal profession by creating a system of social and educational support for women and those concerned with women's issues during their legal education. This system will serve as a network by which women law students are introduced into the existing community of female lawyers and to other students, lawyers, employers, professors and judges who are committed to the growth of females in the legal profession.
Please join us in welcoming the 2010-2011 WIL Board!!!!
Girl Scout Mock Trial - join us as we welcome local girl scout troops to the law school for an afternoon of fun. The girls participate in a scavenger hunt where they learn about life as a lawyer, a socratic seminar in which they discuss the importance of confidence and respect, and a mock trial that allows the girls to test their legal prowess when they try the case of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf.
Study Guide Sale - look for us in the rotunda in mid-October (right around 1L practice exams) to score some great deals on supplements and study guides. All proceeds go to support our programing and community outreach efforts.
Judges' Chambers - join area judges for an evening of networking and honest discussion about what it means to be a woman and a professional.
Faculty Dinner - take advantage of a unique opportunity to engage with faculty over dinner.
