the 2018 UNV Vita tax clinics have concluded.

Thanks to all of our volunteers for all of your hard work and for helping to make this a successful tax season. Please remember to log your  Pro Bono  hours and to check  back next year for information about volunteering in 2019.

Clinic Dates

Tuesday, February 6, 2018 through Saturday, March 31, 2018

Tuesday and Wednesday clinics are 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Saturday clinics are 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 

Due to increased demand, we will also be offering clinics every other Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. beginning February 17, 2018. Below is a full list of Saturday afternoon clinics:

  • Saturday, February 17, 2018
  • Saturday, March 3, 2018
  • Saturday, March 24, 2018
Location:  All VITA Clinics will be held at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Busines School, on the second floor of the McColl Building, 300 Kenan Center Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27599. 

Clinic Sign-up Information

  • Please sign up for your clinics promptly.
  • If you are working a clinic, Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that you can get set up.
  • Each client is allowed one hour to work with a volunteer.
  • There are generally three sessions held per week, with an extra Saturday afternoon session on alternating Saturdays
  • We require that volunteers participate in at least three clinic shifts.
  • All clinics will be held on the second floor of McColl Building.

Pro Bono Information and Disclaimer

Volunteers submitting pro bono hours can submit those house after they volunteer at least 3 clinics.

Please Note: Some states require a certain number of Pro Bono hours completed prior to being admitted to that state's bar (i.e. New York, etc.). If such a requirement applies to you, be sure to check with that state's board of law examiners or other bar admission body to determine whether that state will accept VITA hours towards that requirement. We CANNOT guarantee that VITA Pro Bono hours will count towards any bar admission requirements.
