Student organizations who need funding should consider the following funding sources:
Student Bar Association
Student organizations can apply for semester funding from the Student Bar Association during our Fall and Spring Budget Meetings. Organization treasurers must attend the Treasurers Meeting before each Budget Meeting or organizations will not be eligible for funding. The Fall 2009 Budget meeting has already passed. Information about the Spring 2010 Budget meeting will be posted later in the Fall Semester.Student organizations who have
unexpected costs arise during the semester can request emergency funds
from the SBA by filling out the Emergency Budget Request Form form
available on the Budget Forms page. You must send the completed form and a copy of your SAFO general ledger to kgould@email.unc.edu
at least 48 hours in advance of a meeting of the SBA Board of Governors
for your request to be considered. We also have seed money available.
Seed money is a no-interest loan from the SBA that can be allocated to
help group fundraising efforts. Seed money received from the SBA must
be repaid by September 30, 2010. The application process for seed
money is the same as the process for emergency funding requests.
The SBA will also fund groups who clean the refrigerators in the
Snack Shack. Groups can sign up on the sheet posted on the SBA
Bulletin Board outside of the student organization suite. Sign ups are
first come first serve, but please do not sign up more than once per
semester. Groups will receive $30 for each cleaning.
