Heels on the Street - Friday, September 4th


Join fellow Carolina Law students for a day of public service. 

The day will start with lunch in the rotunda at noon.  After lunch, students will leave in groups to volunteer with local organizations for the afternoon.  The day will conclude with a Bar Review at He's Not Here from 5pm-9pm.

Students can sign up for shifts at lunch in the rotunda from 8/31-9/3.  We will be working with the following organizations:
Orange County Habitat for Humanity
15 Volunteers, 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM in Hillsborough
Build a house for a deserving family.
 
Habitat for Humanity ReStore
10 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Durham
Organize a new thrift store benefitting Habitat for Humanity.
 
Durham Crisis Response Center's Pennies for Change Thrift Store
6 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Durham
Organize a thrift store benefitting survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families.
 
North Carolina Botanical Garden
10 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Chapel Hill
Plant a new garden.
 
Blue Ribbon Mentor Advocate Program, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools
8 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM in Chapel Hill
Post fliers around town for an organization that provides mentors to deserving, disadvantaged children.
 
PTA Thrift Shop, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools
10 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Chapel Hill
Organize a thrift store benefitting the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
 
Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation
8 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Chapel Hill
Clean up Franklin Street.
 
The Women's Center
8 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Chapel Hill
Clean a house for an organization that serves women in the Triangle.
 
Chapel Hill Senior Center
8 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Chapel Hill
Spend time with senior citizens.
 
Ronald McDonald House of Durham
10 Volunteers, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Durham
Do yard work and clean a house for families to stay while their children are receiving medical treatment.
 
Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels
6 Volunteers, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Chapel Hill
Deliver meals to people in need.
