Tuition Information Forum: SBA Hosts the Dean's to Answer your Questions about the Tuition Increases

Did you know that tuition increases have already been set for the next few years? Wondering what this will mean for you? Having questions that you want answered?

Come to the Tuition Open Forum where SBA will be hosting Dean Boger, Dean States, Associate Dean Meredith Weiss and Vanda Chou!

They will answering questions about the tuition increases and informing students about the tuition increases that will be hitting Carolina Law in the upcoming year!

Fall is officially over, but maybe you didn't get a chance to get involved in student organizations.  Look out for announcements on My Carolina Law to see when different organizations are going to be meeting! If you want to become a member of a certain organization just show up for their next meeting which is likely be to in the next few weeks!

Calling all Bowlers!

UNC Law is starting up its bowling league again and we want you! We bowl in teams of 3 (alternates are always welcome) at the Durham AMF Lanes on 15-501 and compete against Duke law every Monday at 7:30 p.m.

The league will be starting February 6 with a free bowling night for those that might be interested! If you want to join the league email Jack Magee at

SBA Spring Budget Allocations - Key Dates

  • January 26 - MANDATORY Treasurer Meeting: The Spring 2012 Treasurer's Meeting will be held on January 26, 2012 in room TBA during lunch from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.. A representative, preferably the treasurer, of each law school student organization must attend this meeting to receive funding from the Student Bar Association for the spring of 2012. If your organization will not be requesting funds from the Student Bar Association then your attendance is not required.
  • February 10 - SBA Spring Budget Meeting: Organizations who are represented at the Mandatory Spring 2012 Treasurer's Meeting will present their budget requests at the Spring Budget Meeting.

SBA Dean's Advisory Council

The members of the Dean's Advisory Council want to hear from you! The members of the Dean's Advisory Council (DAC) serve as liaisons for all law students to Dean Boger. The DAC meets monthly with the Dean to discuss a wide variety of issues affecting law students.

In an effort to connect with as many students as possible the members of the DAC will be tabling from 12 p.m. -1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18 and Thursday, January 19 in the Rotunda. Please stop by to share your thoughts, concerns, issues, etc. with members of the DAC.

If you aren't able to stop by the Rotunda this week you can always share your concerns by emailing or speaking with one of your class representatives. The following is as list of the representatives for each class:

Winter and Professional Clothes Drive

The SBA Public Service Committee will be collecting gently worn clothing donations from law students, faculty and staff to be donated throughout the Chapel Hill and Durham area. Please look out for the boxes located in the Rotunda and the lockers between Tuesday, January 17 and Friday, February 17 to make your donation.
