The 3L Class Gift is the total, collective sum of money given by or on behalf of UNC Law students during the academic year. So, if you were a 2L this past year (Class of 2019) and paid for an item at the CPILO Auction, then that money was counted towards the Class Gift of this past year’s 3L Class (Class of 2018). Furthermore, if you choose or have chosen to donate money to CPILO while participating in the Pledge A Day’s Wage event, then the amount you will give/have given is still counted towards the current year’s 3L Class Gift, even though the money was donated to CPILO. Basically, if you, as a student, make a charitable contribution to UNC Law School, then that amount of money will be counted towards the Class Gift for the graduating 3L Class of that certain year.
There is a Difference Between the 3L Class Gift and the 3L Class Endowment Fund.
The Endowment Fund (described on the page "Endowment Fund") is where SBA places money raised as a result of various fundraisers.
