General Information & Procedural Overview

The Student Bar Association Budget Allocation Hearing takes place two times each academic year, once during the Fall Semester and once during the Spring Semester. The Fall Budget Allocation Hearing generally takes place during the last week in September, while the Spring Budget Allocation Hearing generally takes place during the last week in January.

At each Budget Allocation Hearing, recognized student organizations are invited to request funds from the Student Bar Association for student activities and events they wish to organize during that semester. All recognized student organizations are able to request from the funds collected by the Student Bar Association Student Fee, which is currently set at $14.50 per student.

Recognized student organizations requesting funds must do the following:

  1. Attend the Mandatory Treasurers Meeting held each semester;
  2. Complete the General Budget Allocation Form and submit it to SBA Treasurer Asha McCorvey; and
  3. Have their Treasurer, or other designated representative, present the request at the Budget Allocation Hearing.

Disbursement of funds to each recognized student organization is made at the discretion of the Board of Governors of the Student Bar Association.
