What is Accepted?

  • The Balance Sheet welcomes submissions on any topic concerning the legal aspects of the banking industry.
  • Your submission may be an original essay, a response or counter-argument to any Article or Note in a printed volume of the NCBI, or a commentary on recent legal events.
  • Your submission should offer an insightful and unique perspective and should take the form of a short essay, which does not have to be heavily footnoted or sourced as a traditional law journal article.
  • Citations should conform to the 18th Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
  • We strongly encourage submissions of less than 3,000 words in length, including footnotes.
  • With your submission, you must include an abstract of no more than 400 words in length, which will appear on The Balance Sheet as the introduction to your submission.
