Lambda Activities

Lambda participates in many events throughout the year, both at UNC and in the greater community. We welcome ideas for events from new or prospective students. Below are examples of some of our regular activities:

  • Political Activities
  • Karaoke Bar Review - Lambda annually hosts the entire law school community for a "Bar Review," in which many students meet at a local bar to socialize, sing karaoke, and raise money for Lambda.
  • Joint Events with other UNC Graduate Programs and other Law Schools - Lambda will sponsor a number of mixers and other events with the UNC Public Health, Medical and Business Schools in 2009-2010; there is additional interest in organizing events with Duke OutLaws, and Elon's Outlaw
  • Pride, Coming Out Day, Freedom To Marry Week, and other National Events - Lambda organizes events to celebrate National LGBT festivals, including tabling to raise awareness of Freedom to Marry Week, and organizing social outings and celebrations. North Carolina Pride, a weekend-long event in October, is one of the largest of these celebrations.
  • General Body Meetings - Occasional meetings are held to set the group's course, and to visit as a group for an hour.  Our first meeting is scheduled for September 16 and 17, 2009 in Room 4085 of the Law School.
