The Consumer & Commercial Law Society (CCLS) was created in response to the 2008 financial crisis as a way to strengthen the focus on consumer protection and commercial law at Carolina Law. Our goal is to raise awareness among students about significant issues in this rich and growing field, as well as to connect students with meaningful pro bono activities. Upcoming events include a Fraud Fighters pro bono project, in which students will have the opportunity to speak at community centers and retirement homes about prevalent scams targeting local seniors. Guest speakers this semester will discuss current critical issues facing students, including school and home loans.
